The women at the tomb

This image is more than the story told in the Gospels. It speaks more of the different reactions and stages of faith of each woman – and of each of us.

One woman is still in disbelief, still searching the tomb for some answer.

Another is utterly confused and frightened by what may have happened. She is running away from whatever it might mean.

The front woman has probably been through the other stages, but she is ready to meet the Lord – open to the wonder and truth.
