Sister Petronella in Chelmsford
Sister Petronella Prioress of Mirhi (Congo) and Sister Agnès from Rwanda
joined us at the Blessed Sacrament Church Parish Hall, Melbourne Avenue, Chelmsford to tell us about our Communities in war-torn Congo and post-genocide Rwanda. A large number of friends and local people joined us for this event, which was very moving. We heard especially about the conditions for women and children, and were struck by the determination and commitment of our Sisters to live in solidarity with the 'poorest of the poor'. We shared ideas for keeping involved with their work and a new web page (external link) has been set up. On this page you will find more about the visit of the two Sisters, photos of the events in Chelmsford and of the work in Africa.
Sister Petronella emphasised the importance of our prayerful support and the afternoon ended with evening prayer together.
