Water of life, cleanse and refresh us; raise us to life in Christ Jesus.

All you who thirst, come to the waters and you will never be thirsty again.

We shall draw water joyfully, from the wellsprings of salvation, singing joyfully.......

Lord, you speak to us through signs which tell us of the wonders of your unseen power. We use your gift of water, which you have made a rich symbol of the grace you give us. At the very dawn of creation your Spirit breathed on the waters, making them the wellspring of all holiness.
Lord, look now with love upon your people gathered here and unseal the fountain of living water.

(Words from the Easter vigil blessing of the waters for Baptism)

Gospel - St John 4.4-14

Jesus said, 'Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but those who drink of the water that I will give them will never be thirsty.  The water that I will give becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life'.

'Sir, give me this water, so that I may never be thirsty or have to keep coming here to draw water', replied the Samaritan woman.

MEDITATION IN MOVEMENT

Psalm 42

Like the deer that yearns for running streams, I long for you, my God.

Like the deer that yearns for running streams, so my soul is yearning for you, my God.

 Picture 513

My soul is thirsting for God, the God of my life; when can I enter and see the face of God?

We give thanks for the tremendous blessings of this past year - the relationships renewed, new friendships begun, for the great number of people who have worked alongside the Community and School, sharing their gifts and skills, encouraging and enabling the variety of events and encounters.

We pray too for all of us present here who are continuing and spreading resurrection hope.  Bless each one and strengthen us in our desire to serve, to build community and to strive for a world where each person is valued.

Christ is our source, our wellspring - may we continue to desire the water that he offers us, that it may be a fresh, bubbling spring within us, bringing us eternal life.   We make this prayer through Jesus Christ our Lord.  AMEN.

We proclaim together - We believe in God whose love is the source of all life.   We believe we are made in the image of God,  called to re-create the world as holy ground as partners with God, called to live simply in solidarity with all people, called to live as people of hope, as we too undergo our own transitions and sufferings on the way to new life.

And in the name of Jesus Christ we commit ourselves to the service of others, to seek justice, to live in peace, to care for the earth, to live in the power of the spirit of hope and love, nourished by that fresh bubbling stream of living water and so to be the Church, God's people, with Alleluia as our song.  Amen.

This day, this day was made by the Lord, alleluia!   This day, this day we rejoice and are glad, alleluia!
