New Hall

New HallThe Community with its work of providing education for Catholic girls found a home at New Hall (Essex) in 1799 when it had to return to England because of conditions on the continent.

Apart from evacuation during the second world war the Community lived, prayed and worked there until 2005, and the initial handful of pupils expanded to a large school.

The school continues to flourish on the site, with a new Boys’ Division housed in the quarters formerly used by the Community.

(Visit New Hall School website at www.newhallschool.co.uk. You will find a photo archive there.)

From 1986 – 2006 there was a pastoral centre on site, the Barn. Retreats, spiritual accompaniment and a variety of courses took place there. (Visit Spiritual Accompaniment for information about our continued work in this field.)

Although no longer resident on site, the Community maintains strong links with New Hall.

Sister Teresa and Sister Angela are presently still on the Governing body.
