Scripture Study

Included in our ministry is the opportunity we offer to anyone who wants to deepen their life of faith through study of the Bible.

Over the last year (2009/2010) courses have been run at three centres: Chelmsford, Holy Name Church and in Colchester at St James the Less & St Helen, Priory Street and St John Payne, Greenstead.  Our method of study is interactive: some in-put, study of texts in small groups followed by discussion and sharing of insights.

In the coming autumn we will start the following courses:

Chelmsford at Canon Wilson Hall, Lucas Avenue.  A study of the Pentateuch (the first five books of the Bible) on Monday afternoons from 13:45 – 15:45hrs starting on September 13, 2010.  This course will continue until June 2011.

Colchester at St James the Less & St Helen, Priory Street.  We will start a study of the Gospel According to Matthew, on Wednesday evenings from 18:45 – 20:45hrs starting on September 15, 2010.

Colchester at St John Payne.  We are in the process of studying How to Read the New Testament based on the book of that title by Etienne Charpentier and we will continue this study starting on September 16, 2010.

Anyone interested is most welcome to join these courses.  Just bring along you own copy of the Bible.  Any translation is acceptable.  If you want further information please contact Sister Angela on: phone 01206 867296 or mail to: 74 Howe Close, Colchester, CO4 3XD.
